Dayami Akita's has been providing quality pups since
our founding in 2001. It is our mission to ensure healthy, lovingly reared
puppies that only move to homes where the love and care will continue.
We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to keep new owners well
educated and to provide ongoing support.
I have been involved in Akitas for a number of years. I have built my
kennels on a variety of things, most importantly being my comittment,
love, care and devotion to my dogs.
My involvement in the show ring has changed me tremendously, I
have learned an immense amount about the breed, my direction and what
I would like to accomplish with my Akitas. It does not matter how much
knowledge you have, it does not matter how much experience you think you possess, there
is always the fountain of knowledge before you. To me it does not matter
how many years have passed, it should not matter how much you think you
know, one always has to remember there is someone out there who knows
a whole lot more than you. This is something I live by and never forget.
I have many of people I sit back and learn from, and I treasure their
knowledge, I treasure all the help each and everyone has given me along
the way.
One very important lesson I have learnt along my travels... You can never please eveyone, be a part of a large group of people and have every one of those in that group like you. Do not be surprised to ask one kennel about another and to hear someone say good things and the next person to say bad things. Unfortunatley with everything, politics DO get in the way! I have spent enough time and years in this breed to realise that I will do what I want with the breed I have TOTAL passion for! I Hip Score, Eye Test and DNA profile ALL my dogs. I do not breed often especially in the past few years I have produced 1 possibly 2 litters in past few years! Breeding my dogs is not to make me rich or even make me any money. I pour alot back into my dogs and so every responsible breeder should in order to make way to better thier lines! I welcome any and all visitors alike to come and visit myself, my dogs as every breeder should! I welcome anyone into my home to visit my dogs and see for yourself, ask any questions you may have about the breed and see just how my puppies will be raised and why it is so important for me to raise my babies in the way I do. I am always more than happy to answer what questions I can and refer you to someone else for those questions I cannot.
I have built my name and reputation on all I have learned, all I have
succeeded in and most of all, I know I have become what I am today because
I care about my dogs, my family and most of all every baby I have ever
bred. I am committed, devoted and most of all involved with my Akitas on
a daily basis, be it in the show ring, obedience class or right here on
the setee. My dogs are not just kennel dogs, but a part of my family.
They live alongside my children, who are invoved in the training, the
care and the responsibility of each and every dog that walks through my
door.
Dayami is a family run Hobbyist Kennel in the Warwickshire.
Dayami Focuses on producing Akitas with sound bodies and stable temperaments
which in my understanding is quite another expertise. It takes time and
research to understand what it is we are doing with the Akita breed. It
is not just a male and female mating to produce puppies.. we focus on
brilliant temperaments and health tests to produce healthy, sound pups,
who in turn grow up into well behaved adults! So only the best will do.....
After a lot of hard work and dedication, Dayami has become what it is
today. A well respected, trusted and approachable family kennels. Where
we do not need to breed for money but for the health and temperament of
our Akitas, come visit us and you will see.
All our pups are raised inside our home with lots of contact with the
children and all family members. We also have kennels, but all our Akitas
spend equal time in the house and their kennels, giving them the best
of both worlds. Pups raised inside will be on their way to being paper
trained and well handled and well socialized, so hopefully making it easier
when they head home with their new owners.
As a caring breeder I like to keep in contact
and offer any help to new or old owners of Akitas, I have homed my puppies
with. I do not like to see any of my Akitas ending up in a rescue, so
homes are vetted and owners must be well educated about Akitas and you
must also visit mature Akitas to get a better understanding the personality
of an Akita.
There are two kinds of people in this breed, those who can have fun and
enjoy the company of their Akita, using their experience and knowledge
to carry forward only the positive traits of an Akita, following all health
tests to further this beautiful animal with only the best qualities! Then
you have those who are far too interested in money to give their Akitas
the attention they deserve. You MUST ask yourself if an owner has bred
their pet with no health tests and with little expertise, one must ask
why.....
I do hope this explains what we are here to do...... For us this is purely
a hobby, a hobby I take very seriously.

| A little about our family..... I
myself am a mother of 3 children who are at school full time now... My
hobbies including my dogs, ringcraft classes, kickboxing, Yoga, walking,
my Akitas/ Field Spaniel and of course my children in a happy chaotic
home... but I would have it no other way!
I am originally from Canada I am An Ex Sheriff’s Officer previously
based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I chose not to join the service here in the
UK due to family Commitment.
I have and continue to study behaviour management in
dogs and dog psychology, I fully support Tellington Touch methods, clicker
training and any and all methods proposed by the genius himself Dr Ian
Dunbar. I highly recommend any and all materials written by this well respected man! At the moment I hold several certificates in animal behaviour. I am currently attending University on a full time basis and I am very hopeful of achieving my University degree with a B Sc (hons in Animal Behaviour) My work currently consists of doing one on one animal behavioural training with owners and problematic dogs. I am very hopeful of opening a puppy/dog training class in the Warwickshire in the near future. I am in the midst of locating a suitable venue for training classes.
