"Dayami Dangerous Beauty"

I found Dayami Akitas after hours of researching the Akita breed and reading various breeders websites. I did not want a puppy just yet as I was moving house soon, but thought what was the harm in being prepared.
1 Particular web site caught my eye - Dayami's. So after boring my partner silly with "oh come and look at this one" he finally had, had enough, E-mail her, ask if you can go and meet the dogs. Could you really do that? I didn't know, I mean I didn't even want a puppy yet, but I thought I would ask a few questions. I got an e-mail back the next day inviting me over. When I arrived at Suzann'e I was really nervous. I wasn't sure if it was normal to just go and visit, other peoples dogs. I didn't want to put anyone out. I needn't have worried, I was made to feel so welcome by everyone. In fact Suzanne was quite happy to show me around and show off her dogs. . I already knew all of them from her web site, but meeting them in person, well that was just something else. I got kisses from them all, and after reading all about the aloof personality of the Akita, it was quite a shock to have Kosumo bounding up the garden straight towards me, trying to drown me with kisses!
Suzanne's kennels were spotless, the dogs so happy and I knew then that I didn't just want an Akita, I wanted a Dayami Akita! Suzanne asked me loads fo questions that I would expect from any one good breeder. She suggested some books that would be good to read. I never felt under pressure to buy one of her pups, but felt that she was making sure I understood the responsibility involved in owning an Akita.
I spent 3 hours on that first visit, never once was I made to feel as though I was imposing on the family. When I finally arrived home, my partner Adam thought I had been kidnapped and much to his dismay it didn't stop me talking about Akitas.

It finally came the time to pick up my new puppy I watched them grow up on Suzanne's web site when the pups were old enough I was invited down for a visit and visited every week (sometimes a few times per week) til my baby was ready to come home. I was so excited I couldn't wait to have my little girl home. I even forgot to ask Suzanne when my puppy was last fed. I rang Suzanne as soon as I got home and when she answered, their was definitely a choked up voice on the end of the phone. I guess raising a litter of 11 puppies for 8 weeks, it is understandable how Suzanne could get so attached to these puppies.
Thank you Suzanne, Kosumo and Airi for my beautiful baby girl!

Thank you again Suzanne your friendship, your support and most of all your kindness has really got to be admired.
